In their new project, the dream machinists travel through the brain of a forgetful captain and have found a special area in Hamburg for this undertaking: the source of the Mühlenau at the HSV Arena. An artificially drained stream bed on the former Stoltzenberg site and next to it an embankment that was once piled up for the construction of the U5. This bizarre landscape tells of many, sometimes futile, attempts by man to shape it and of terrible legacies of the past that simply won't seep away.
For those who don't want to go on a sea voyage alone, we offer a workshop Tandem in small groups with the artists on 04.09. with a multimedia walk using QR codes. With the help of a digital map, the audience gets deeper and deeper into the twists and turns of the present and past of the forgetful old captain and his impatient daughter. In the process, their perception of the bizarre play location gradually changes and they encounter old seals, mirror heads and sirens.
The videowalk can be visited at any time. Between 12:00 and 14:00 there is also the opportunity to take part in a reminiscence workshop with the artists afterwards. The reminiscence workshop lasts approx. 45 minutes. Registration for the workshop is not necessary.
Traummaschine Inc. is a Munich-North German group from the fields of performance, music, visual arts, fashion design and film. Traummaschine has been developing theatre pieces for young people and children since 2013. The diversity of the actors enables an approach to the audience that appeals on many levels.
The story is only one of several narrative tools. Equally important are the music and the play with form and material, i.e. the acoustic and visual images that are created. The working method of Traummaschine Inc. is characterised by play developments that are often performed away from theatre stages, gladly in public spaces under the open sky.
