When we are young, we learn how to remember. Sometimes it's hard because there isn't much to practise with yet. Later, remembering becomes more difficult again. Maybe because you have to remember so much? But there is also a very nasty disease - Alzheimer's - that forces us to forget. A little more every day.
What happens then when remembering becomes difficult? Is one still oneself when one cannot remember oneself? And what about when our parents or grandparents start to forget? The performers of Dream Machine Inc. have people in their lives who are starting to forget. Together with the audience, they travel to the exact place where everything starts to stop -»Hirn der Finsternis«.
Instead of live performances, Dream Machine Inc. sets up a multimedia walk using QR codes. With the help of a digital map, the audience gets deeper and deeper into the twists and turns of the present and past of the forgetful old captain and his impatient daughter. In the process, their perception of the bizarre play location gradually changes and they encounter old seals, mirror heads, and sirens. And for those who don't want to go on a sea voyage alone, we offer a tandem with the artists on 04.09.!
The walk is free of charge and can be visited at any time. Start at the entrance to the green strip along the Mühlenau in Sylvesterallee (53°35'16.2″N 9°54'07.4″E; diagonally opposite "Uwe Seelers Fuss").
Traummaschine Inc. is a Munich-North German group from the fields of performance, music, visual arts, fashion design, and film. Traummaschine has been developing theatre pieces for young people and children since 2013. The diversity of the actors enables an approach to the audience that appeals on many levels.
The story is only one of several narrative tools. Equally important are the music and the play with form and material, i.e. the acoustic and visual images that are created. The working method of Traummaschine Inc. is characterised by play developments that are often performed away from theatre stages, gladly in public spaces under the open sky.
