Nowadays, almost every theater piece has its own position for sound. The function of sound is very different: between energy supplier, co-player and sound backdrop, there are many different fields of application and aesthetics.

With the musician Leo Hofmann we explore unconventional settings and potentials of sound design and theater music. Microphones and loudspeakers become instruments and co-performers. Thanks to wireless devices we get into motion and explore how sound can become a performative tool. We leave the usual stereo boxes switched off and think about alternative ways of sound reinforcement. We hack and modify devices and make music with them. We explore the world of experimental instruments and digital interfaces and what potential they might have for our own practice.

The workshop will be held in German. No previous technical knowledge is required.
